the simplicity of this line “wisdom sometimes whispers in the simplest moments” nails it.
I feel like we tend to overcomplicate what it means to be wise or to grow, but in the chaos of all our thinking, we forget the most brilliant moments tread in the silence.
also I’ll have to listen to this song, Kevin, thank you for sharing!
This is such a beautiful theme, Kevin. I love that you chose wisdom. It’s something we don’t always pause to really reflect on, and yet it shapes so much of who we become. What you said about wisdom revealing itself when we listen closely... I love that. There’s something so powerful about learning not just from our own experiences, but from truly hearing others and allowing their stories to expand us.
And thank you for sharing the song. I hadn’t heard it before, and I really enjoyed it. And it’s such a perfect reflection of what you’re describing. There really is wisdom tucked into the simplest, most unexpected moments.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback, Andrea. As I mentioned to C Simone, gratitude is not my natural lane. I am grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful mentors in this club, and I am paying attention.
It wasn’t for me either for most of my life. I was actually just telling C how people used to say things like “change your perspective” or “focus on the good,” and I just… didn’t get it. It wasn’t until I actually started practicing gratitude that I understood how powerful it really is. It completely changed my life.
I honestly had to force myself at first. I started by trying to list 1–3 things each night that I was grateful for. Some nights, I’m not kidding, one of those things was just that the day was over! 😅 But the more I practiced, the more I noticed I was actually seeing the good during the day while it was happening. Eventually, that evening practice turned into a morning gratitude meditation… because really, what better way to start the day?
I’ve been practicing now for about 4–5 years, and I never miss a morning. And my list is definitely longer than 1–3 now! lol
I am definitely going to work on it. I'm shooting for one a month right now, not setting the target to high. 🎯 😊 Seriously though, it will come with some practice. I love to reflect, so I'll put more emphasis here, just as you did.
I appreciate you sharing that, your story is encouraging. 💛
I love that you already see the value in it, and honestly, even once a month is more than most people ever pause to do! It really can change things in a big way… it definitely did for me!
And what’s funny is, you probably won’t have to force it for long. That once a month turns into once a week… then one day you realize you’re noticing things daily, sometimes multiple times a day, without even trying.
Kevin, I am going to date myself, but I love this song. I am listening to it for the second time as I type. My dad used to sing this me when I was a little girl. Cheers to Watermelon Wine.
Yes, dated and stuck in those memories. I miss him, even as an adult I am still that little girl who thought he hung the moon. Guess death can't take that from me. Somehow I needed this today. Thanks again.
The coolest club on Substack. I love this
Thanks Jade! 😊
What a beautiful piece of writing
Thank you, Duncan. ✨
You are very welcome

Thank you so much, Suma.
Often the lesson is right there for the taking, especially if we’re present and paying attention.

Thank you so much Andrea. I really do appreciate all of your support and encouragement. ✨💛
Thanks for taking part and being part of the club Kevin! ✨️💛
"Old dogs care about you even when you make mistakes
God bless little children while they're still too young to hate" - these lines of the song got me!
Wisdom is such a profound thing, it often requires experience and learning from mistakes and others. ✨️
Thank you C Simone. I’m thrilled to be part of this. ✨💛
Those are my favourite lines too. 😊

Cheers indeed, Monica!
And yes you have dated yourself...but then so have I! lol
It is so nice that you remember your dad singing this to you. A wonderful memory.

Agree, learning from others enriches our own understanding♥️
